About the Company: Sagan represents a growing Managed IT Services Provider (MSP) that delivers remote technical support, network administration, and infrastructure services to schools, educational institutions, and business clients across the United States. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Administrator & Team Lead to oversee our technical support operations and complex infrastructure environments. Moving beyond standard end-user support, this supervisory role focuses on serving as the primary escalation point for complex (L3+) technical issues, leading and mentoring team members, optimizing system architectures, and ensuring high-quality MSP service delivery. The ideal candidate is a seasoned technical lead who can balance hands-on infrastructure administration with operational oversight and team guidance. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Supervision: Supervise, mentor, and guide junior and mid-level IT support technicians (L1/L2); manage ticket queues, escalation workflows, and service delivery quality. L3 Escalations & Advanced Support: Serve as the senior escalation tier for complex, unresolved technical issues spanning Windows environments, cloud infrastructure, and network architecture. System & Infrastructure Administration: Design, maintain, and secure Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Azure environments, domain policies, and core network configurations. Network & Security Operations: Oversee enterprise networking components including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, routing, Wi-Fi, and VoIP systems. Backup & Disaster Recovery: Lead maintenance, strategy, and troubleshooting for client backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Backup Exec, etc.). Process & Documentation: Develop technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and escalation playbooks for the engineering team. Client & Executive Communication: Act as a technical point of contact for key escalation clients and ensure SLA adherence across business and educational accounts. Qualifications: 7+ years of progressive experience in IT systems administration and infrastructure support (MSP environment strongly preferred). 2+ years of formal or informal leadership experience (Team Lead, Supervisor, or Senior Escalation Engineer). Advanced Expertise: Microsoft Windows Server (2016+), Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD administration. Deep Networking Knowledge: Strong mastery of enterprise routing, switching, VPNs, firewall policy configuration, DNS/DHCP troubleshooting, and VoIP architecture. Escalation Management: Proven track record of handling advanced L3 technical escalations beyond routine scripting. Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills suitable for team management and client-facing interactions. Setup: Reliable high-speed internet connection with backup power/connectivity capable of supporting continuous voice/video management duties. Nice-to-Haves: Advanced Microsoft or Networking Certifications (e.g., MS-700, AZ-104, CCNA/CCNP, Network+). Linux server administration and Asterisk/VoIP management experience. Enterprise networking equipment experience (Cisco, HP, Fortinet). Direct experience supporting multi-site environments or educational institutions.
Requirements
