Solar PV & Battery Storage (ESS) CAD Designer / Drafter

Key Responsibilities:

Draft complete, compliant permit and utility plan sets for residential Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (ESS) using AutoCAD.
Incorporate structural, electrical, and site layout requirements based on engineering outlines and site survey data.
Perform efficient revisions and redlines based on feedback from internal teams, AHJ reviewers, and utility companies.
Maintain and update AutoCAD templates, single-line diagrams (SLDs), dynamic blocks, and equipment spec sheets.
Ensure all designs adhere to relevant national and local codes, including NFPA 70 (NEC) and ICC building/fire codes.

Location: Remote
Schedule: Full-time, 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM MST
Compensation: $1,800 USD / month

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS:

• 2+ years of hands-on AutoCAD experience specific to residential Solar PV and ESS/battery design.
• Strong understanding of electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), site plans, structural layouts, and equipment interconnections.
• Solid understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC), AHJ submission standards, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a commitment to minimal error rates in drafting.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for team coordination.
• High-speed, reliable internet connection, high-performance workstation capable of running current AutoCAD releases smoothly, and a professional noise-canceling headset.
