Key Responsibilities: Deal Analysis & Pre-Qualification: Review tax returns (Form 1040, 1065, 1120S), profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and personal financial statements to determine whether a deal qualifies for SBA 7(a) financing. Calculate DSCR, build Sources & Uses tables, and compute SBA guaranty fees. Identify deal issues and red flags early and communicate them to the senior broker before a deal goes to a lender. Credit Memos & Loan Summaries: Write lender-ready credit memos and loan summaries covering the transaction overview, borrower background, company financials, DSCR analysis, sources and uses, and documentation status. These go directly to bank underwriters. Business Plans & Financial Projections: Write business plans and build 3 to 5 year financial projection models when required by the lender's needs list. Underwriting Support Respond to underwriter questions by pulling answers directly from source documents (tax returns, P&L, QOE reports, balance sheets, LOIs, CIMs, resumes). Operations: Manage 5 to 10 active post-LOI deals simultaneously at various pipeline stages. Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) daily to assist with drafting and analysis. You are expected to verify every output and catch what the AI gets wrong. Maintain accurate records and organize files within Google Workspace and Box.
Requirements
Qualifications: 3+ years in financial analysis, accounting, credit risk, or underwriting. Can independently analyze financial statements and calculate EBITDA and SDE from raw financials on day one. Can read and interpret U.S. federal tax returns, including common addbacks and adjustments. Native or near-native English fluency with a clear accent. Non-negotiable — you will be on video with U.S.-based clients and lenders regularly. Advanced Excel and Google Workspace proficiency. Strong attention to detail under speed. Same-day turnaround on credit memos and business plans is the standard. Proactive and self-directed. You flag what's missing, ask when something doesn't make sense, and don't wait to be told what to do next. Nice-to-Haves: Experience in U.S. commercial lending, SBA loan processing, or business acquisition financing. Familiarity with Quality of Earnings (QOE) reports. Experience building business plans or financial projections for lender packages. MBA or CPA.
