Key Responsibilities: Source, vet, and manage overseas manufacturers (China and Southeast Asia), from initial outreach through production. Own supplier relationships and ensure timely communication, maintaining sub-48-hour response times on critical items. Develop detailed product specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation. Build and maintain unit economics models, including COGS and margin analysis. Lead the prototyping lifecycle from initial samples to production-ready product within a 6–9 month timeline. Coordinate third-party testing and certifications to ensure product quality and compliance standards. Manage multiple parallel workflows across design, tooling, and sampling with minimal oversight.
Requirements
Qualifications: Proven experience sourcing and managing manufacturers in China or Southeast Asia. Strong technical writing skills, including BOMs and product specification documents. Solid financial acumen with experience in cost modeling and unit economics. Demonstrated ability to manage complex product development cycles independently. Strong analytical mindset with a focus on risk management and data-driven decision-making. Nice-to-Haves: Experience in sun protection, skincare, or UV detection products. Familiarity with FDA or FTC regulations related to SPF claims or UV devices. Background in industrial design or mechanical engineering. Experience supporting DTC product launches and packaging development.
