Key Responsibilities: Digitize parcel boundaries, easements, and property features in ArcGIS Pro. Georeference scanned images, old plat maps, and survey documents into GIS layers. Create and maintain shapefiles, feature classes, and geodatabases with consistent data standards. Integrate survey data with tax parcel records to support land management decisions. Read legal property descriptions and older/handwritten land documents (including cursive) to extract boundary information for mapping. Prepare and present map-based research data to support the land team. Perform attribute table editing, spatial analysis, and data validation before delivery.
Requirements
Qualifications: 1-3 years of hands-on GIS experience (cadastral, parcel mapping, infrastructure, environmental, or similar). Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro. ArcMap experience is a strong plus. Experience digitizing, georeferencing, creating shapefiles, and managing geodatabases. Comfortable reading property descriptions or land documents to extract boundary data. Detail-oriented with high accuracy across multiple concurrent tasks. Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data validation and attribute management. Self-directed and organized working remotely with minimal daily supervision. Strong written English. Nice to Haves: ArcGIS Online experience. Python (ArcPy) or SQL for data manipulation and automation. Background in cadastral mapping, land tenure, or parcel-based GIS work. Exposure to ROW mapping, infrastructure mapping, or land use/land cover analysis. Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
