Key Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and remediate Windows update failures across servers and endpoints. Investigate recurring patch compliance issues and identify root causes. Work within enterprise RMM and patch management platforms to execute remediation activities. Analyze Windows Update logs, servicing stack issues, reboot states, registry inconsistencies, and update dependencies. Support patch deployment activities and maintenance windows across multiple client environments. Document remediation efforts and contribute to repeatable remediation runbooks. Escalate issues appropriately while adhering to operational and client governance procedures. Collaborate with internal teams to improve patching reliability and remediation throughput. Assist with automation opportunities using PowerShell and scripting where applicable. Maintain accurate remediation notes, status updates, and operational documentation. Success Metrics Reduce endpoints behind on quality and feature updates.. Improve remediation turnaround time. Decrease recurring patch failure incidents. Increase endpoint compliance rates. Maintain high-quality execution with minimal client disruption.
Requirements
Qualifications: 4+ years of Windows systems administration or patch remediation experience. Strong MSP experience supporting multiple client environments. Advanced troubleshooting experience with Windows Update failures and patch compliance issues. Experience working with RMM and endpoint management platforms such as Kaseya, ConnectWise Automate, NinjaOne, Datto, N-able, SCCM, Intune, or similar tools. Strong understanding of Windows Server and desktop operating systems. Experience analyzing Windows logs, servicing stack issues, update dependencies, and reboot-related failures. Ability to work independently in ambiguous and non-standardized environments. Strong process discipline and escalation judgment. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Comfortable working in operationally intensive, client-facing MSP environments. Nice-to-Haves: PowerShell scripting and automation experience. Experience improving remediation workflows or patching processes. Familiarity with WSUS, SCCM, Intune, or enterprise patch governance environments. Experience supporting large-scale endpoint environments. Exposure to compliance-driven or highly regulated client environments. Relevant Microsoft certifications.
